Well, there appear to be some who do not have issues with our current weather in Calgary. With the temperatures below freezing and several inches of fresh power over the city, it is keeping some people indoors. I, unfortunately, don’t have that luxury.
My dog needs to go outside, and the back yard will not suffice.
She will hound me, no pun intended, until I let her out to do her business. She will not, however stop until she has had her time at the park. This is because we have played out this ritual ever since she was a pup. Habits are hard to break, especially when they are fun.
Even in this weather she will roll in the snow, drag her belly along the snow, and chase the Frisbee.
So here we go. Rotating her tail like a propeller and just as dangerous. Not something you want to be slapped with. I took her out in the weather yesterday and she simply loves this weather. To get her into the van, I needed to trick her with a treat because she didn’t want to leave.
We will do so again today, and might need to resort to tricks to get her into the van, but when we get home, I’ll have a nice mug of hot chocolate and relax in the easy chair, and she will fall asleep on the couch for the rest of the afternoon.
Winter is here, so it seems. Best have lots of chocolate on hand.
