Weekend Writing Warriors 4.14.13 #8sunday

Thanks for dropping by this week. I was away last week, but have returned with a new snippet from a current WIP entitled “… Shall Inherit”.

I hope you will enjoy it.

The creaking of the hinges announced the entrance of the two men into the house. Wearing fatigues, gloves and masks they passed through the foyer with a sense of caution and reverence moving around as not to disturb anything. The machines in their hand beeped in a cadence similar to that of heart monitors attached to hospital patients and there were no patches on their dark clothing or weapons to reveal they were military – only back backs and large pouches on their belts.

The smaller of the two ran his gloved hand across a piece of furniture leaving a faint trail through the dust. “Not much dust considering how long this house has been vacant,” he said as he looked at the trace of dust on his glove. “Must be nearly airtight.”

“I thought I heard a soft hiss when we opened the door,” said the other man.

I hope you enjoyed today’s snippet. Join me time for more from “… Shall Inherit”.Β  And doj’t forget to visit other Weekend Writing Warriors and enjoy their snippets as well.
