“We don’t know, but there are many who think the Alaythayans are orchestrating this.” Gallien watched Demeas for a reaction, but saw none, “You are not surprised by this suspicion, Demeas?
“No, Master.”
“People like what they preach: tolerance. Tolerance for misplaced and bad behaviour. I understand that there needs to be allowances made for mistakes, but from what I’ve heard and seen, they tolerate wickedness. They teach tolerance for other beliefs,” Gallien let out a sad chuckle, “but when you break it down, they have only an acceptance for their beliefs and values.”
“Which is no tolerance at all,” added Demeas.
“Exactly. Although they have not said it openly, they have no regard or respect for The Pillars or Chalrusha.”

Religion–it’s such a deep well to draw from when writing. And it’s always intriguing, no matter which side of the aisle you stand on, believer or non-believer. And it always evokes feelings. Good snippet, John!
