Weekend Writing Warriors – Restoration #12

Welcome to another snippets. I hope you will enjoy this week’s selection which is but a part of the greater whole. The idea is to present the entire short story to you 8 – 10 sentences at a time.

This link will take you to the Weekend Writing Warriors home page where you can check out snippets from other writers.

Demeas and Gallien continue their discussion about the Alaythayans.

“But nothing to the degree the Alaythayans. In less than eight centuries, they have fallen far from their sacred and honoured inception. Their allegiance in Khelenah lies to the King, who himself worships Zhenkrad. So what does that say about them?” asked Demeas.

“Many within The Alaythayan Order do not know what is occuring. Rumours which speak of removing The Sacred Writings altogether and replacing them with their collection of The Determined Truth have circulated. Yet, rumours they remain.”

“What are you not telling me, Master?”

  1. Ed Hoornaert says:

If it took them 8 centuries to fall from glory, that’s pretty good, isn’t it?

  2. It does seem there’s a lot going on behind the measured words. Very well spun story here!

  3. Gotta love writing the history of a world you created, right? Great snippet, and I wonder what the secret is!

  4. Amalie says:

Intriguing. Corruption within any group, sacred or secular, works best when it infiltrates slowly over time, so that when the final change comes, no one even notices it happening. Thanks so much for sharing!
