Gallien looked even more tired now. Perhaps he should drop the issue and leave to track the thief.

“Go to my desk and open the bottom drawer.” Demeas did as Gallien instructed and found a book. “Please read it, Demeas.”

He held the book open and read. After several pages he put the book down, “I don’t understand this.”

“What is there not to understand?”
