Weekend Writing Warriors – Restoration #16

Welcome to another snippets. I hope you will enjoy this week’s selection which is but a part of the greater whole. The idea is to present the entire short story to you 8 – 10 sentences at a time.

This link will take you to the Weekend Writing Warriors home page where you can check out snippets from other writers.

“I’ll leave immediately.”

“Be careful, Demeas. And if possible, bring him back alive.”

Demeas looked into the old man’s sad eyes. The compassion Gallien had always shown was not pretentious. He truly lived the qualities of mercy, grace and compassion, and with one look Demeas knew that he expected the same from him should he find the thief.

“Yes, Master.”

“Remember, he could be one of our own.”

This end the first part of the story.
Join me next time for another snippet when Demeas begin to track our thief.

I’ll be taking a short break and return on January 10, 2015

You’ve got me wondering who they’re looking for and why.

  2. Really interesting! Strong characterization in a short excerpt–kudos on that. It’s hard for a lot of writers to pull that off. Enjoying this story! Happy Holidays and hope you have a pleasant bit of time off.

  3. I love the holiday spin on the WeWriWa logo! Nice…enjoyed the excerpt. You describe Gallien the way he also comes across through his own dialogue…excellent excerpt!

  4. Intrigued by who they are looking for and what will happen when they find him. Hope you enjoy your break. Happy Holidays!

Fun snippet! It’s always good to see how different people handle these sorts of situations. I’m interested to see what happens going forward. 🙂 Thanks so much for sharing!

  6. Of course you leave on an awesome cliffhanger! Though to be fair, you’ve definitely earned your holidays. Enjoy them! 🙂

  7. Thank you all for your comments. See you in the New Year and have a Merry Christmas and safe holiday season.
