Weekend Writing Warriors – Restoration #19

Welcome to another snippet ranging from 8 – 10 sentences long.

This link will take you to the Weekend Writing Warriors home page where you can check out snippets from other writers.

Demeas continues his conversation with the old man.

The old man squinted, “Not there. Must not be back yet.”

Demeas pulled two copper coins from a leather pouch and gave them to the old man, “Thank you. You’ve been helpful.”

“Do somethin’ wrong did ‘e? I mean, what with ‘im acting so strange and all.”

“No, nothing like that,” answered Demeas with a smile.

He was getting closer to his goal, but two things continued to troubled him. An H’Rhophyan was responsible for the theft and, more disturbingly, the identity of the priest still eluded him.
